  The cruciform chamber in these series of rooms is where the Umayyad caliph would have held audiences to courtiers. There is Sassaniad influence in the architectural and decorative design of the area. Some of these decorative motifs are lying on the floor of the throne chamber as well as small mosaic floor remains.
