I lived in Jordan for 1 year and went to Chouefait for 4th grade. It was 2015. I didn't regret it! The teachers were strict, but that was because the students had no RESPECT! Also, there is a little bullying, but if you think that's bullying then you have lost your mind! The gir that bullied me became my best friend and we still talk and meet up in summer! I wish I could move back and go to the best school you will ever attend! GO CHOUEFAIT!

Pretty terrible by international standards but that is to be expected from schools of the area. Academically it sounds like a good idea to immerse students in college level courses and three different curriculums but in practice the idea flops. Students are under immense pressure to preform with daily exams and weekly "periodic" exams which are comparable to unit or chapter exams or any other school, however there are two per week, on the same day. The extreme emphasis on marks overshadows the actual goal of learning, and that is to give students the tools necessary and the method of thinking required to succeed in life. At the very least there should be a greater emphasis on actually understanding what they are learning and not just memorization of rules. I attended the school for a year (as part of a family decision to come to the reason to become reintegrated with the culture) and throughout my time we had one lab demonstration and for a 10th grade level that is disappointing to say the least, considering I spent all of my prior schooling in western Canada, where science demonstrations are so common that there may be up to three classes in the lab at any given time. Furthermore the one demonstration that was carried out by ISC-Amman was a biology one in which we saw a heart but there was only one heart and it was already dissected before hand. The school sees lab work as a necessary evil to fulfill practical exams rather than a tool for student learning which is the Canadian view of the process. Considering the fact that I attended public schooling in Canada (as private schools are mostly unheard of in Alberta) and had at least five full chemistry periods in the lab at the grade nine level and comparing that with the 10 minutes I spent in the lab at ISC-Amman, you begin to realize that the entire school is set up more like a business rather than a learning institution, focusing more on efficiency and cost effective teaching techniques rather than actual student understanding. Couple that with the absurd price tag, absence of substitute teachers (if your teacher is absent, then there isn't a class that day) and a staff which is neglectful to bullying and takes almost no action to punish disobedience presumably due to fear of bad-blood with powerful Jordanian families and you get the picture that this school produces computers, rather than learners.

I went to that school then fleed from it’s midst (as well as hundreds of others) mostly because of the staff and quality of students that made up the school. There’s a bunch of bullying that was never handled until a video went viral — just then did they “notice” bullying. Don’t get me started on the supervisors, they make your children’s self esteem level drop below 0 and they even physically harm their students. If you want your kid to be constantly bullied both physically and verbally as well as a huge decrease in his/her motivation and self esteem levels then you’re probably looking at the right school. Not to forget, all the school cares about is money and family recognition— for example, let’s say a kid from a very well known family with money wants to attend this school although he/she is known for their bad behavior.... they’ll welcome her/him anytime as long as they get their money. This is super honest
