  Красивая историческая достопримечательност. Не смотря на то, что вход в саму Петру стоит дорого, экскурсия дарит массу впечатлений.

  С Visitor Center начинается путешествие в древний город Петру, и его самую известную достопримечательность - Эль-Хазне (Сокровищницу), чудом сохранившийся храм-мавзолей из розового песчаника. Петра - это уникальное, мистическое, поистине фантастическое место! Петра просто завораживает своей красотой! От Visitor Center до Сокровищницы идти в общей сложности 2,5 км, а потом столько же обратно, нужна удобная обувь. Сам Центр чистый, хорошо оборудован, есть бесплатные буклеты и карты Петры на разных языках.

  Read, and read carefully....else you'll be fleeced. The nice, clean and modern Petra Visitor Center is the entrance to the "Lost City" and it's where your anticipation starts building up. The staff is friendly and very polite. There's a long hard walk in the heat ahead of you, several kilometers there and several kilometers back so do make sure you take plenty of water with you, have your sunglasses, use suntan lotion if necessary and a must is that you wear good walking shoes or sneakers. Now before you head off, I strongly recommend that you do not take a horse or carriage (even if offered to you "free" or included in your ticket). Also, avoid all dealings with any of the horse and carriage dealers and peddlers that you'll meet along the way, beginning on the left hand side as you start your journey. Just don't engage. Yes they are all lovely people and nice to start with but believe me in the end there can be serious $$$ hassles which will ruin your whole experience. Once you've got your ticket, be on guard and at all times avoid the scammers, don't ever take out and open your wallet. Also, if you're smart you'll make an early morning start when it's cooler. Your once in a lifetime and an amazing, priceless, most memorable experience is about to begin. I'll see you at the next stop ;-)
