  The Byzantine church at the Amman Citadel was built by 550 AD. Building elements from the nearby Hercules' Temple were used to erect the church. One of the southern columns is a reused cylindrical block with a Greek inscription. It is very photogenic combined with the Temple of Hercules or the Umayyad Monumental Gateway.
