  The Baths of Placcus were excavated in 1931, but they are quite overgrown and difficult to make sense of. You can find on the courtyard a couple of long blocks with Greek inscriptions (see review image). They are part of the dedication of the baths to the sponsor, Bishop Placcus, in 454-5 AD. Placcus had architectural elements from the Sanctuary of Zeus dismantled and reused to build the baths which underwent subsequent renovation in 584 by Bishop Marianos.
