::متحف الأردن هو المتحف الوطني الجديد للآثار في المملكة الأردنية الهاشمية. يقع في منطقة راس العين وسط مدينة عمّان، حيث توجد أمانة عمان الكبرى ومنشآت عمّان الثقافية. صمم المبنى المعمارُ جعفر طوقان، وقد بُدئ بأعمال البناء في عام 2005، وعلى مساحة 10,000 متر مربع. يعرض متحف الأردن تراث المملكة الحضاري والتاريخي ضمن قاعات مميزة بتصميمها، وهو مركز وطني شامل للعلم والمعرفة يعكس تاريخ وحضارة الأردن بأسلوب تعليمي مبتكر.[1][2] تاريخ ابتدأت فكرة إنشاء متحف وطني لعرض آثار وتراث الأردن في ستينيات القرن العشرين، بعد إنشاء متحف الآثار الأردني في قلعة عمّان عام 1951. وفي عام 1980 عقد المؤتمر الدولي الأول لتاريخ وآثار الأردن في أكسفورد، وأوصي المشاركون بإنشاء متحف وطني. تبع ذلك تشكيل "جمعية التراث الأردني" عام 1989 بعضوية عدد من المهتمين ومندوبي المؤسسات الحكومية والجامعات، ووضعت هذه الجمعية الأسس التي تطورت لتصبح المفاهيم العامة للمتحف. أما التمويل فقد أتى عام 1999 عندما وقعت الحكومة الأردنية اتفاقية قرض مع الحكومة اليابانية لتمويل مشروع تطوير القطاع السياحي، ومن أهم مكوناته المتحف الوطني. في عام 2002 أصدر الملك عبدالله الثاني قرارا بإنشاء المتحف الوطني، وابتدأ العمل على إنشاء المتحف عام 2005 عندما وضعت الملكة رانيا العبدالله، رئيسة مجلس أمناء المتحف، حجر أساس المبنى، وأقر مجلس الأمناء اسم "متحف الأردن".[1]

::Really cool I didn't think Jordan had such cool history for a dinar you can learn so much very nice place to go on a school trip or just alone my only problem is that it closes very early. Other than that go.

::The museum has potential but there really isn't much to it. There is literally one floor of exhibit space included with the ticket price. I'd guess about 1500-2000 square feet or so....and that's being generous. I essentially paid 5 JOD to see the Dead Sea Scrolls (which were fascinating to see). However, beyond the scrolls, the exhibits are mostly geared toward kids (digital/interactive) and only offer a rudimentary introduction to select aspects of life in Jordan. There is no history section or chronological introduction to the country and/or her people. To add insult to injury, the "Innovations" exhibit on the second floor requires another 3JD to enter. I found this additional price to be absurd, considering the museums's main exhibit was so lack luster. According to online accounts the museum opened in 2014. Unfortunately, I'm not certain where all the money went as, four years post opening, the museum does not present as ready for the public. This visit was one of my more disappointing experiences in Amman. Maybe worthwhile if you have kids but the museum has a long way to go in order to appeal to serious historians/museum buffs.
