  Khirbat al-Mudayna is an Iron Age Moabite Fortified Settlement where a six-chambered town gate as well as cultic and industrial areas have been uncovered. It is thought to mark the northernmost town within Moab near the border with neighboring Ammon. The site is remote with beduine tents and flocks of sheep or goats around. The sense of being well off the beaten track is quite real here. Beware that the last stretch is on unpaved road which requires care with a 2WD vehicle. As you can imagine, there are no restrooms or any other tourist facilities on site. One should be mindful not to disturb anything, to keep out of the excavated areas and not to litter the place. Therefore, one's garbage should be collected and discarded appropriately.
